Fort Worth Scottish Rite
Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
Stated Meetings - Third Thursday
|

Chairman’s Message
A friend and I were once discussing the many and diverse fraternities available for
men to join in
and become active. He said he believed every many should belong to some
fraternal organization,
and on that we both agreed. In fact, this nation is truly blessed with so many good
civic and fraternal
Groups, clubs and lodges, each of which, in their own unique way, contribute to the
betterment of society.
Freemasonry however, stands far ahead and above others in offering such a broad
spectrum of areas in which to serve.
Consider how many “Masonic” organizations comprise our great fraternity. If you
counted only one for each of your fingers and toes, you would still come up short of
the total number. The Blue Lodge of course is the foundation stone of all, and,
upon it rests all the York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies, Shrine, Eastern Star,
etc., etc., etc. So many, that it is often said that if you can’t find a home in
Masonry, you won’t find one anywhere.
We who are fortunate to belong to the Fort Worth Scottish Rite, take tremendous
pride in our membership, and the myriad of activities available to us through that
membership. However, our pride extends much deeper than the “good works” we
accomplish. We do so much and are highly active. We may not have the largest
number of members than any other group, but we do not have the least. We may
not initiate more candidates during the year than some, but our numbers are
respectable. Even though there are things we could be doing better, we constantly
strive for improvement and are admired by many.
What makes our members so happy and eager to participate, is the terrific feeling
of Brotherhood in Fort Worth. We respect each others opinion, help each other to
our best ability, include our ladies in just about everything, thoroughly enjoy being
with each other, and in general, have a deep sense of belonging. It is really
something to walk into a Fort Worth Scottish Rite meeting of any kind, become
overwhelmed with a feeling of being home, and among a family of Brothers and
friends.
So may it ever be!
Sincerely and fraternally
James D. Ward, 33rd Degree
Chairman
