Cruise Memories

Did you miss the Scottish Rite Cruise in February?  The weather was great, lots of sunshine, lots
of food (I think I gained 10 lbs), lots of memories.

Jamaica was our first stop and a real test of our courage (or lack of good sense).  David Sebastian
and I talked our wives (Bonnie and Pat) into sliding through the jungle on zip lines.  Once you get
to a certain age you should not do certain things, but we can mark this one off our bucket list.
Everything went well until Pat got stuck on the first slide about 5 feet from the end, but the guides
retrieved her without too much damage to her pride and from there on it was a hoot.  Upon
returning to the ship and passing through customs I found out you do not take pictures in a
Jamaican customs line.  This customs gal, about twice my size lectured me on security, needless to
say all I said was “Yes Sir”.

Our next stop was Grand Caymans and what a beautiful island it is.  The Sebastians, Pat and I
took the island tour with stops at the pirates caves and highlights of the island.  I had learned my
lesson in Jamaica and was real good in the customs line. There is so much to do in Grand Caymans
you can go back many times and do something different each time.

Our last stop was Cozumel Mexico with the mandatory shopping for the girls, and watching the
girls for the guys.  We heard that Sonny and Kathy Tull tried the parasailing, I would have given
$10 for a picture of that one.  When Pat and I did it a few years ago she screamed the whole time.
Make plans to go with us on the next cruise March 29, 2009.  This will be a first out of Galveston to
the Bahamas.
